Interestingly, I've had 4 Tech recruiters in the last 2 days comment on how flat the OZ Executive IT market is for jobs. It's not unusual to see over 200 applicants on CIO, CTO, Head of IT level on jobs within 48 hours of posting.
One hypothesis is that this might be a result of company conservatism due to economic factors including interest rate increases.
If the recruiting pause from many companies is due to financial uncertainty, why are there zero Virtual CIO (vCIO) or part time Head of IT roles advertised on the job platforms?
Surely SMBs in particular recognise the potential here.
